<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7782091490949814367.post-22236791413636333242020-09-06T00:00:00.000-07:002020-09-06T00:00:03.472-07:00Romans 12:2: What Does it Mean to Be Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mind?<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
The hope of every born again believer is to be transformed into the image of Christ. (Gal.4:19) In order to be transformed, we must renew our mind by the constant bathing of the word of God which has power unto salvation. "...our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power." (1 Thess. 1:5) We are not to conform to the ways of this sinful world which is temporary. The Holy scriptures have the power to turn our thoughts and attitudes toward God and away from the carnal ways of the world. Without the cleansing power of the word, we become insensitive to sin.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
Having to live and work in an unbelieving world can greatly influence the mind. By the end of the day, we often find ourselves thinking and even acting like unbelievers due to such close association. Most of us are bombarded daily by backbiting competition, vulgar language, gossip, and all kinds of worldly temptations. "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:2)</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
As physical beings living in a physical world that we can see, feel, and touch, it is very easy to get caught up in its ways. We can't escape all of the corruption that is in the world today but we can reduce its influence by the cleansing power of the word. "Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you." (John 15:3) Paul said that we can't isolate ourselves from the wickedness around us (1 Cor.5:9-10) but that we can take the necessary steps to protect ourselves from its influence by the renewing of our mind. Bible study and prayer can renew the righteous thoughts, feelings and intent which the world can so easily strip away.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
When we study the scriptures which tell us that as Christians we are to work, not only to provide for our families, but also for those in need, (1 Thess.4:11) be satisfied with what we have, and do all things as unto the Lord (col.3:17); we are reminded to do our best in all that we do and not to follow the examples of the world. The book of Psalms can fill our mind with words of praise to God, while cleansing it of the senseless worship of movie stars and sports figures. The book of proverbs reminds us that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom (Prov.9:10) pushing aside evolution which tells us there is no God.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
The steadfast renewing of our mind through prayer and scripture helps us to love righteousness and abhor that which is evil. It reminds us to be kind one to another in all circumstances with brotherly love.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
God's holy word has the power to cleanse our mind of worldly contamination, filling us with the knowledge of God while prayer strengthens our spirit and increases our wisdom. The word of God is our sword and an essential part of our spiritual armor. Consistent renewing of our mind through prayer and meditation in God's word pushes worldly influences out and renews our thinking, transforming us into the image of Christ. Therefore, we should strive to renew our mind by faithful prayer and Bible study in order to be conformed to the image of Christ; which is the perfect will of God.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Image result for Guilt" height="250" src="https://cdn.thinglink.me/api/image/632241257413869568/1240/10/scaletowidth" width="400" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
While we have been on the topic of guilt I thought it would be a good time to share what the Lord has shown me.<br />
<br />
There is a good type of guilt. And there is a bad type of guilt. That sounds like an oxymoron but the truth is there is Godly sorrow that leads a person to repentance (2 Cor 7:10). This would be conviction from the Holy Spirit.<br />
<br />
John 16:8, "when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin..."<br />
<br />
This type of guilt lifts when a person repents. And than there is the accusations, the condemnations from the devil. Condemnation is never from the Lord. NEVER. And God will not leave you feeling drained or attacked. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
<br /></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">
Now this is where I am going to be extremely honest because this is where the Lord had to be the same way with me. Any time we have false guilt, it is a symptom of unforgiveness. See I had so much guilt. No I was not an ax murderer. I honestly have not been a "bad girl". But deep inside I had unforgiveness and I beat myself up over and over. But what I haven't said yet is... that unforgiveness is directed at yourself.<br />
<br />
Colossians 3:13 says "...forgiving one another..." The phrase 'one another' in the Greekis Heautou, which also includes ourself!</div>

Hebrews 12:15- See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.<br />
<br />
Sidenote: If you have repented of your sins and you are still feeling guilt... go back and look for a stronghold of guilt. This is back to not accepting Christ's sacrifice, His love, and that your sins have been washed in the blood of the Lamb.<br />
<br />
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[<a href="https://www.facebook.com/notes/julie-cammon/guilt-continued/487001761381080/#" role="button" style="color: #365899; cursor: pointer; font-family: inherit; text-decoration-line: none;">a</a>] The old has gone, the new is here!<br />

I want to close with a few verses on forgiveness</div>

Psalms 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."<br />

Revelations 1:5, "And from Jesus Christ, who... washed us from our sins in his own blood."</div>

Psalms 103:12, "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us."<br />
<br />
Matthew 26:28, "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." Do you know what the NT Greek has to say about the word 'remission' here? "Forgiveness or pardon, of sins (letting them go as if they had never been committed), remission of the penalty."<br />
<br />
Isaiah 43:25, "I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins."<br />
<br />
Hebrews 9:14, "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"</div>

Not only did God chose to forget your sins, but He also wants you to forget them as well. God's Word tells us to, "...draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water." (Hebrews 10:22)<br />
<br />
In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus tells us, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."</div>

Mark 2:7-11 (Wey) "Why does this man use such words?" they said; "He is blaspheming. Who can pardon sins but One--that is, God?"... Jesus asked them, "Which is easier?--to say to this paralytic, 'Your sins are pardoned,' or to say, 'Rise, take up your mat, and walk?' But that you may know that the Son of Man has <em>authority</em> on earth to pardon sins"--He turned to the paralytic, and said, "To you I say, 'Rise, take up your mat and go home.'"</div>
